May 2009
17th - Showing at the Rare Breeds Show - judge Rosemary Phillipston-Stow - Cayberry Hot Shot was 2nd in the Stallion class and qualified for the best of Breed Championship and Shilstone Rocks Barolino was 1st in the Two Year Old class and qualified for the Best of Breed Championship and also qualified for the Showland Native Society Elite Championship Show in September. And it poured and poured, we were soaked but managed to laugh and remember that we do it for fun!
2nd of May at 8.45pm Lizzi's foal arrived. As usual, no signs off my dear mare such as running milk or waxing up, she simply gave birth! Tofferton Hot Gossip is a stunning bay colt, the image of his sire Cayberry Hot Shot.
Wistmans Eventide is due for her first foal at the end of the month, sire, Stourton Henry.
April 2009
Tofferton Country Cottage went to her second show, PUK and a big class of 12 yearlings. She was pulled in 5th but sadly dropped to 8th - never mind - she behaved beautifully and the outings have given her great confidence as she was initially a little shy.
Cayberry Hot Shot was 4th in his class of stallions at the same show.
Lizwell Duchess' foal is due towards the end of the month.
March 2009
21st - Tofferton Country Cottage went to her first show - Forest of Dean held at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire. She was 2nd in her class.
February 2009
It's snowing and February '09 has been the hardest winter for many years in the UK with deep snow particularly in Wales and The Midlands and further south in the Dartmoor ponies home territory. The two colts - Cayberry Hot Shot and Shilstone Rocks Bardolino - and gelding Wistmans Cenotaph are wintered at Castlemorton Common and doing what Dartmoors do best - being hardy!
The two expectant mums - Lizwell Duchess II and Wistmans Eventide have their foal tummies examined regularly and both foals move well which is most reasurring. Not long to go now - mid April for Lizwell Duchess and mid May for Wistmans Eventide.
January 2009
Tofferton is now into its fourth season of producing Dartmoor ponies. Stourton Henry and Quinton Charisma move onto their new home in Germany at the Magnum Stud.
December 2008
We are delighted that two of our ponies have been chosen by the owner of a German stud of 25 years standing and are due to be exported in January '09.
October 2008
Sadly, Holyrood Cover Girl aborted her filly foal - by Stourton Henry.
8th August 2008
We showed a mare and foal for the first time and both were placed 4th at the NPS Summer Championship show - Quinton Charisma and Tofferton Dark Secret. Aah - we had fun that day!

NPS Area 12 Show
Wistmans Eventide placed first at her first show with us.
Cayberry Hot Shot placed third and sixth - he was a terribly naughty, noisy boy today with only one thing on his mind!

April 2008
We brought the mares back from Castlemorton Common mid March to let them settle before their foals start to appear.
Now, according to my maths the dates should have been April for Holyrood Cover Girl, April for Lizwell Duchess II and as late as 1st June for Quinton Charisma. But, the girls being girls they have their own plans it seems and Lizzi has started it off with a nicely filled udder during the last five days,Cover Girl is showing no signs at all and Charisma looks as though she will explode, so clearly she just enjoyed running out with Hot Shot for the fun of it! If she lasts till 1st of June then she will probably give birth to a tiny Shire not a Dartmoor.
So, watch this space as they say because I think Lizzi's baby will arrive in the next few days. Her hubby is Stourton Henry.
