Our Darties are our hobby! Our aim is to breed ponies to show under our own prefix and most all to have fun and enjoy our babies and watch them grow. Our first baby was the registered Dartmoor Part Bred, Tofferton Magic Flute.

Our breeding stock have been chosen for their temperament, type, conformation and movement and the emphasis at Tofferton is 'small but quality'. To aim to be responsible breeders we have included a young graded up mare from the Newtake Scheme to ensure some 'new blood' to our herd of 'old fashioned' bloodlines. We do not have huge acres of land to 'farm' Dartmoors, ponies are frequently found trimming down the lawn, consequently, our ponies are well socialised with humans/dogs/tractors/children - oh and noisy, boisterous teenagers from the beginning and as a British Dressage Judge and Trainer, Julie is aware of the importance of a good education to produce a well mannered pony which is a pleasure to own. Our ponies are handled daily from birth with this aim in mind.

We must have done something right with our first crop of pure bred foals in 2008, as we were most flattered to ask if we would part with Tofferton Country Cottage to join the Springbokwater Stud in Namibia, being newly founded by Ute Schwarz. However, we couldn't be persuaded to part with one of our first generation fillies!
